The Sentence That Costs Years

Procrastination feeds fear – beginning takes away its power. "I'll start tomorrow" – the sentence that can cost you years. Tomorrow you'll have the same fear. The only difference: you're one day older. Why not today?

The Sentence That Costs Years
```xml Get comfortable and let your breath flow. Breathe in deeply once. And slowly out again. One more time. Today we accompany a thought that has already changed many lives. The story of a sentence that can cost years. Clara stares at her laptop. For months she has been carrying around one letter – still unwritten. The letter to her boss. The resignation. Today is Monday. "Next week," she whispers to herself. She had said the same thing last Monday. And the Monday before that. Her best friend Anna calls. "So, did you write the letter?" "I'll do it tomorrow," Clara says quickly. "You've been saying that for three months." "Tomorrow is different. Tomorrow I'll be ready." Anna is silent for a moment. Then she says softly: "Clara, who do you think you'll be tomorrow?" "What do you mean?" "Tomorrow you'll be the same person who is afraid today. You'll be sitting at the same desk. You'll have the same doubts. The only difference: You're one day older. And the fear has grown one day bigger." Clara feels something tighten inside her. "But tomorrow I'll have more time to think." "Clara," Anna says gently, "you've been thinking for months. You already know what you want. The problem isn't that you don't know what to do. The problem is that you believe tomorrow will be braver than today." Clara opens a blank document. Her fingers tremble over the keyboard. "What if I make a mistake?" "Then you'll make it today," Anna says. "But if you wait, you'll certainly make a mistake: You'll waste your life waiting." Clara begins to type. "Dear Mr. Weber, I hereby resign..." Her hands are trembling no longer. Breathe in consciously once. And let your breath flow slowly. Think of something you've been putting off for a long time. Feel into it: Is there fear? Let it be there. Breathe into the fear. And ask yourself: Who do you think you'll be tomorrow? The same person who hesitates today. With the same fear. Only one day older. Breathe in deeply one more time. Sometimes the bravest moment is not one in which we have no fear. But one in which we begin despite the fear. What you don't do today won't be easier tomorrow. What you don't do today won't be easier tomorrow. Procrastination feeds fear. Beginning takes away its power. Take this thought with you into your day: Tomorrow is no braver a place than today. It's only one day further away from what you truly want. Breathe in deeply one more time and slowly open your eyes. Thank you for these moments together. Thank you for using Calm Sessions. ```
