Calm in 5 Minutes - Acute Stress Relief

Right now, everything feels like too much – racing heart, shallow breathing, inner restlessness. This short meditation calms your nervous system in just a few minutes.

Calm in 5 Minutes - Acute Stress Relief
Stress is like a storm in your body – and you can learn to calm the storm. Begin with a simple breathing technique: Inhale for four seconds, hold for four seconds, exhale for four seconds. One-two-three-four inhale, one-two-three-four hold, one-two-three-four exhale. Repeat this in your own rhythm. As you breathe, scan your body from top to bottom. Where is the tension sitting? Perhaps in your shoulders, your neck, your jaw? Breathe consciously into these places. Imagine your breath is like warm water, gently dissolving the tension. With each exhale, you release a piece of inner restlessness. You don't have to be strong, you're allowed to be soft. Recognize: This moment of chaos is temporary. You are not your thoughts, you are not your stress. You are the calm observer who has found a safe place in the midst of the storm. Continue breathing in this calm rhythm. Feel how your heartbeat slowly becomes calm. Your nervous system is learning again what safety means. When thoughts arise – let them pass like clouds. You observe them, but you don't have to hold onto them. Return your focus to your breath: In and out, in and out. Every breath brings you back to your center. Every breath reminds your body that it is safe. You have control over this moment. You choose calm.
