Collected Attention for Deep Work

Before a demanding task, this meditation gathers your attention, clears mental clutter, and creates clarity for focused work.

Collected Attention for Deep Work
Imagine your mind is like a clear mountain lake in the early morning. Small sediments from yesterday are still swirling around in it. Thoughts about emails, conversations, unfinished tasks. With each conscious breath, you sink deeper into this clear stillness. Breathe in and gather all scattered attention like sparks of light. Breathe out and let mental baggage simply sink away. Which thoughts are still buzzing around that are not important now? Notice them without judging them. Like birds that fly past and disappear again. Feel how your attention bundles more and more. Breathe in – gather clarity. Breathe out – release distraction. Your mind becomes a precise instrument. Sharp, but not tense. Focused, but not cramped. What feeling arises in your body when you feel so gathered? Perhaps a calm in your chest, clarity behind your forehead. Breathe into this sensation. And as you exhale, this state solidifies even more. Think briefly of the task ahead of you. Not to analyze it, but to feel: You are ready. Your attention is like a bundled beam of light. Clear, directed and powerful. One last deep breath gathers all energy in your center. You are completely present for what is to come.
